In a world of disparate workforces, where learners are spread across time zones, locations and even organisations, how do we build effective communities to ensure learners feel supported to learn both formally and informally?

Join us for this webinar where we look at the topic of community building, and how the Totara Community took on the challenge of supporting thousands of learning professionals around the world. We wanted to create a space that allowed users to learn how to get the most out of their LMS through formal online learning and by informally sharing best practice knowledge with a community of their peers.

In this webinar we’ll walk you through how we set up both the Totara Community and our integrated Totara Academy. We’ll walk you through lessons learned and what we might have done differently with hindsight. We’ll also look at how learning communities drive sustainable performance improvement and how we built effective blended learning programmes to engage learners. In this session with Rachel Griffith-Boyes, Head of Community Services at Totara, you will explore how to:

  • Set up and sustain a digital learning community
  • Balance formal and informal learning in a single Community space
  • Build effective blended learning programmes as part of a Community

Rachel is the Head of Community Services at Totara Learning. She brings her instructional design and learning consultancy background to lead a multi-disciplinary team in delivering continuous improvements to the Community and a program of courses and programs through the Totara Academy.
With nearly 15 years’ experience in learning technologies, Rachel has worked in instructional design and learning consultancy roles for humanitarian, retail, banking and aviation organisations amongst many others. She has worked at every level of learning delivery; from the design, scripting and building of digital learning resources to design and delivery of face-to-face workshops, and leading learning transformation projects.

Making personalized, collaborative learning a reality
Joel Hellermark, CEO & Founder, Sana Labs

Collaboration and personalisation are two trends that dominate contemporary thinking about workplace learning.

Collaborative learning involves synchronous, interactive live sessions with groups of learners, and is powered by social dynamics and community.

Personalization focuses on self-paced instruction that responds to the unique needs of every learner, and is powered and scaled by AI.

Is it possible to combine these two? According to Joel it is. In this session, he will explore what it means to combine these two approaches in entirely new ways—using social dynamics to increase engagement while responding to each learner’s needs to improve learning outcomes. Join us to explore the exciting possibilities of personalized, collaborative learning.
