Instructional design for virtual sessions
Presenter: Karen Hyder
Password: Lsg2012
If you're not getting the results you want from your virtual online training sessions, don't change the tool, change your instructional design. Virtual classrooms such as WebEx, Adobe Connect, and GoTo Training have the resources you need to engage learners and support effective learning experiences. Success is in your design. You will:
• Understand why most traditional instructional design methods don't work in virtual classrooms
• Discover how you can make effective use of available virtual classroom tools
• Discuss design considerations for select tools
• Identify what to do with content that doesn't work in a virtual classroom
Technical considerations: Please note that these sessions play best on Internet Explorer on a PC. In particular, you will not be able to access the webinars if you are using Chrome as your browser, nor if you are on an Apple computer running IOS 10.5.

Thanks for the excellent session Karen, by actually using some of the virtual classroom tools i highlighted brilliantly some practical ideas for getting the audience engaged as well as some of the pitfalls to watch out for (especially letting 200+ excitable delegates loose with their pointers!. Thanks, Ed
Comment by Józefa Fawcett on June 26, 2012 at 12:25 This session was excellent, a lot going on but all in all a great introduction in how to use Webex for training and also some good comparisons with Adobe Connect - lots to think about and consider, thank you Karen :-)
