Creative compliance: embedding ethical culture in AstraZeneca’s DNA, Louise Vamvoukaki and Brayley Pearce

Just as DNA contains the genetic instructions for building a life form, learning is a foundation from which people and businesses can grow. Recognising this, global biopharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca, partnered with custom digital learning provider, Sponge, to help embed its Code of Ethics firmly into the company’s genetic make-up.

Far from what can often be thought of as ‘boring’ compliance training, AstraZeneca wanted a creative learning solution that would transcend physical and cultural barriers to engage more than around 60,000 employees in over 100 countries worldwide to live and breathe the company’s values and ethical principles. Drawing on this real-life case study, the session will cover:

  • Shifting compliance from a ‘must do’ to a ‘want to do’ activity
  • Rethinking the design and user experience of compliance solutions
  • Taking a campaign-based approach to compliance
