Seeking examples of lean in L&D

[Cross-posted from LinkedIn]Hi all,I'm looking for examples of where lean principles have been put into practice in the context of Learning & Development, and am hoping the Learning & Skills Group can help with this.Consider L&D as a process of Defining, Designing, Developing and Delivering learning activities. Lean thinking is a mechanism for continuous improvement of those processes which is focused on maximising the value provided to the customer at every stage. So, I'm looking…See More

Mark Berthelemy replied to Sarah Frame's discussion Performance Support Tools
"Hi Sarah, As you know, much will depend what they need support on. If it's generic stuff like how to be a good manager, then access to Google, Youtube and the rest of the internet would be my starting point. After that, to provide an experience…"

Mark Berthelemy replied to Simon Smith's discussion Recommended xAPI training?

Mark Berthelemy replied to Lynn Ireland's discussion How do you encourage your workforce to go onto the LMS and view content?
"Hi Lynn, I know this isn't going to be what you want to hear, but your LMS is probably the last place you should have put your content... Most (hopefully not yours) suffer from a poor user experience and minimal search capabilities. Thus making…"

Hi Mark,

the initial plan was to have one but to 'force the language' so administrators in the UK cannot see the China (Mandarin) administrators site. This has proved to be not powerful enough so I am moving to multiple linked sites

Hi Mark. Pity we didn't get longer to chat - I'd have liked that. By the way I added the link to the slideshow to a new post on the social learning page.

Hi Mark

I've posted a 'moodle meet up' suggestion in the LSG 2010 group. Just thought I'd let you know in case you were going and want to drop by. Feel free to forward to those who attended the last one at the LT conference!

Thanks
Jo

Hi Mark

I've just come across the moodlemoot info and thought I'd drop you a quick email to see how discussions progressed at the LT conference? Kineo are producing a moodle for us and we're launching in the summer so if you're planning any more meetings I'd be keen to come along.

Best wishes

Hi Mark
Just wanted to let you know that we are moving ahead with our Moodle pilot project we discussed a while ago. We are close to installation and have pilot groups and content organised. Kineo have been helping us with set up and we are lloking to develop some elearning content using Articulate also.
I'm sure I'll have lots of stories and learning points to share. It will be interesting to see if we can develop something that will really work for the legal sector.
Kind regards
Ray

Hi Mark,
It was good to meet you too. The conference seems a while ago now as I'm back in flow and grip of too many varying projects. I'm hoping to look into the feasibility of Moodle for testing next week though, thanks again for your suggestion.
hope it's going well

Hi Mark,
It would be great to say hello at the conference if you have a chance. I work with Enterprise Ireland's eLearning team - and work with about half a dozen companies that target the education sector, and would be good to hear your thoughts on the sort of partners that work well with Capita.
I'll be at the talk by Jonny Parkes from the Irish Learning Alliance (ILA) on integrating social networking in an e-learning world, on Wednesday @ 13:15 in Seminar Theatre 4. Perhaps catch up with you there if you can make that session?
Kind regards
Gavin McWhirter
