Learning is the Work: Supporting Learning in the Workplace

I probably shouldn't mention this here (but I will ..).  

There has been a lot of interest lately in the merging of learning with working and the rise and rise of informal and social learning.  Four or five years ago there was a collaboration between a number of large organisations including my own at the time, Reuters, along with British Airways, BP, HSBC, Lloyds tsb and others where we used the credo "when learning is working, then learning is working".


I'm running a fre webinar on Tuesday, April 12 at 3 PM (UK time) with Citrix titled "Learning Is the Work: Supporting Learning in the Workplace" and I'd be delighted is anyone would like to register and join me. Amongst other things, I'll be talking about the following and using some real-life examples:

  • How learning needs to be closely aligned to work if it is to have real impact
  • How organisations are maturing from point-driven events that are separate from work through ‘blended’ solutions to the facilitation of learning experiences within the workplace
  • Experiential Learning – the most effective and efficient way to learn, bar none.
  • The impact of online social environments and communities and how they provide excellent vehicles for effective employee development and learning.
