I have a master degree in pedagogical science and joined VDAB (the public employment service of Flanders) in 1984. I have been coordinating vocational training centers for more than 16 years in different Flemish regions and worked with different target groups. Special areas of interest were training for employees, setup of a network of practice firms, peer learning, workplace learning and international mobility for unemployed trainees of the vocational training center.
I joined the Flemish ESF-team in 2000 as a quality auditor for two years and returned to VDAB to coordinate the policy for integrating newcomers on the Flemish labour market (accreditation of prior learning was an important issue). Later he reinforced the VDAB team working on methods for vocational training.
End 2009 I became director training programmes (programme Leonardo da Vinci) at EPOS, the Flemish national agency for the Lifelong Learning Programme, and took over the the coordination of the full LLP and Erasmus + programme in 2013. Mid 2014 I was asked to return to VDAB headquarters to support the policy development on vocational training. I've coordinated initiatives on literacy, workplace learning and the use of digital tools such as MOOCs. Very recently I took up a role as co-creator in our "work out room" where we invite external parties to co-create solutions for the labour market
