In the age of computing, data has slowly but surely taken over the world. Businesses have been built on it, we are more aware of our personal data than ever before, fishing is no longer just a relaxing hobby and data now even comes in BIG and small varieties. But what about learning data? SCORM 1.2 has been the de-facto tracking standard in eLearning for as long as many of us have been in the industry. What happened to 1.3? What happened to 2004!? Joking aside, data is one area of learning…See More

Congratulations to LSG member Julie Wedgwood and Cheshire ICT, who won not one but two gold awards at the IITT Awards last night (Feb 5th).

At the IT training industry's annual glitzy knees up at Dorchester Hotel, Julie and the team picked up the Gold Award for the Internal Training Project of the Year and the Training Department of the Year (public sector).

Hi Don, It was great to see and feel such a buzz from the conference and exhibition this year. Whist I know you say that this is down to those that attend, you are the glue that brings everything together. No other event compares!
Congrats on an excellently executed and fun event.

BTW how does one access past conference sessions?

Good morning Donald, just a short note of thanks and well done in organising a superb 2 days. Plenty of food for thought even for a small company such as ours! Apologies for not personally introducing myself during the conference. Onwards and upwards. Ronnie

Hi Donald -
I hope to meet you at the conference. I'm trying to encourage people to come along to the talk by Jonny Parkes from the Irish Learning Alliance (ILA) who will be giving a seminar on the ILA ELITE technology project. It is a really exciting industry led project that has had several million € of support from the Irish Government. One of the outputs from the project has been the development of open source tools that enable people to collaborate in ways that also help organisations to guage the value of informal learning.

Jonny Parkes - THe ILA ELITE Platform - integrating social networking in an e-learning world. Exhbition Seminar - Wednesday 28th January 2009, 13:15 - 13:45 - Seminar Theatre 4

Hi Katherine, I had a chat with Jane Hart about this, and she thought that it was probably your corporate fire wall restricting some parts of the site because of difficulties with the CSS files. If you could access it at home, it looks like she was right. Mind you, some people couldn't get into the site at all. Apparently it was blocked because it was a dating/relationships site! Perhaps we're missing a possible lucrative sideline....
