I was introduced to Paul Matthews' work last year by the venerable Colin Steed no less and have found both his books to be really useful sources of ideas and inspiration. And I've found out that this…Continue

This is a shameless plug which isn't my usual style, but I'm sharing it because it's probably the best value ID and elearning production training you're ever likely to get and I genuinely think it's…Continue

About me:
Social chair for Learning Technologies conference and event. I've been in the L&D world for more than ten years now. Interested in all things learning, especially how to harness new social learning technologies and techniques effectively. Always keen to hear new topics and trends but most of all what's actually happening on the ground, which isn't always the same as what's being discussed in the learning press and at events!

Also love football, fashion and cricket, although not necessarily in that order...

Learning Technologies 2016: A Taster

Posted on January 21, 2016 at 21:20 0 Comments

Last year’s Learning Technologies Summer Forum hosted one of the most engaging keynote sessions I have ever seen. Deborah Frances-White delivered a superb talk on the power of play and quite literally had everyone in the room on their feet by the end of it. Yes it’s that time of year again and the build up to Learning Technologies 2016 has begun. It just wouldn’t be January without a massive to do list and lots of late nights working, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! As chair of the backchannel for the event, I am writing a number of posts between now and the event previewing all the different activity to try and help you get the most out of it, whether you are attending in person or following from afar.

It’s that time already folks! It is the eve of the Learning Technologies Summer Forum, even though it doesn’t feel like five minutes ago we were at Olympia in January. As usual we will be doing our best to bring you everything from the backchannel via a carefully selected team of crack tweeters who will be assembling Avengers-style on Tuesday morning.

Tune in…

Each session at the conference has an individual hashtag that will be used in addition to the main…

Summer Forum and Conference

Is it really five months since the learning community descended on west London for Learning Technologies? Well it must be, for this week sees the Learning and Skills Group Summer Conference open its doors on Tuesday 17 June. Run by the same fabulous team, this event is designed to explore some of the main themes from the January event, the monthly webinar series and online discussions on the Learning and Skills Group community site.

There are lots of different types of session…
