I work in a team of 8 including Head of Professional Development, 2 GP Tutors, a Nurse Practice Development Practitioner and 3 Admin staff. Our remit is to develop educational programmes for Primary Care Clinicians across Doncaster in protected time as part of the TARGET initiative (Time for Audit Review Guidelines Education and Training). In addition to our large forum events and practice in-house activities, we are currently seeking to develop alternative methods of delivering training. In the last year we have been able to commission a number of online packages and as Project Lead, I am currently studying for the Post Graduate Certificate in Online Education via the Open University. As complet novices in this field, we are attending Learning Technologies 2009 in the hope that we will be able to bring back some inspiration and innovative ideas to assist us in providing a comprehensive range of learning and development opportunities for our workforce.
