About me:
I work in the Learning & Development Department of AQA Education. These are definitely interesting times for us with all the possibilities for change in the UK education system!

Over the past few years I have been developing my skills in the use of e-learning tools: Adobe Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia Studio, pretty much anything I can get my hands on! With support from my colleagues, I have built up my capabilities on the area of instructional design.

I'm currently studying for an MEd in e-Learning with the University of Hull (online) whilst working. From participating in this course, I have developed a keen interest in introducing the use of social media tools at work for exchanging ideas and complementing our face-to-face training.

Outside of work I like to keep myself active by going to the gym and helping to run a local archery club. I'm planning to indulge in my adrenaline habit with a skiing holiday, and continue with the wakeboarding when weather permits.

I've been keeping a personal blog for over a year now - I went through a bit of a dry spell with regards to posts, but I'm feeling a little more inspired of late :o)

I've started doing my first voiceovers for software demonstrations using Adobe Captivate, and there's another huge wave still to come.  I class myself as a veteran of these kinds of software demonstrations, in fact in a 6 month period this year I recorded over 100 of these! …

How Social Media has changed the way I think & learn

[Copied over from my personal blog]

So, some time ago I had an idea about getting social media used more at my workplace. It's been on the back-burner for a while to avoid clashing with our busiest period, but that will be drawing to an end soon, and I now have a whole lot more tricks at my disposal thanks to…
