It's all about people learning with, through and in spite of technology, together and as individuals. Hearts and minds balanced with business wants - top-down tactical imperatives and bottom-up innovation. Developing and supporting communities that work and all the activity that underpins good practice and models that can be shared.

Thanks for your note. My initial efforts at testing ideas out with people unfortunately resulted in brick walls being installed (!) which I'm now trying to negotiate around without mentioning the words social or learning or environment or collaboration (or blogs or wikis, etc). A little frustrating but probably not altogether surprising - I may have been a little enthusiastic and evangelical in my initial approach thinking I was talking about benefits but perhaps delivering jargon. I will return to talking about sharing 'stuff'. All the best, Katherine
I am looking to set up a social networking site myself in my company and have used SharePoint but did not find it very good. We have another tool now we are going to try but am still interested in how better to use SharePoint as some of our members of staff cannot access the new tool as we have staff worldwide. I thought it best to start using networking tools myself to get used to the idea and have signed up on twitter but have to admit find it a bit daunting and cannot figure out if I have set it up properly.
