  • Within the MOD we are in the investigation stages of introducing a Management Information System (MIS) for individual training. We currently have many MIS type systems throughout the single services and the wider MOD. The new system is planned to talk and share information with most of our current and legacy systems. As part of the scoping study we are trying to find evaluation reports / data of how training for our current and legacy systems was introduced and the effectiveness of that training.
    It would be extremely useful to obtain information of how various sectors of industry introduced MIS training across their organization and any lessons learnt / evaluation of that training.

    I would be extremely grateful if anyone is able to provide information in this area.

Real or virtual events?

Everyone likes going to a good event - like the Learnming and Technology event yesterday. You meet people you know, and people you do not. And I have always found L&T great for that. It is far more rewarding than, for example, just being part of this online group (no offence!).  But if you are like me, you probably get invited to free events all the time, and you do not have the time to read all the invites - let alone go to the events. Developing capabilities of 'business support' teams

We have recently implemented an 'Enterprise Support' unit, which comprises all the service teams from functions that support the business (e.g. IT, HR etc) either through insourced teams or via managing outsourced service providers.  Building capability in this unit is a high priority and we have already developed an initial skills dictionary, base curriculum etc based on stakeholder interviews internally and some external best practice.  Now we have some basics in place and we are further down…
