  • Hi

Within the MOD we are in the investigation stages of introducing a Management Information System (MIS) for individual training. We currently have many MIS type systems throughout the single services and the wider MOD. The new system is planned to talk and share information with most of our current and legacy systems. As part of the scoping study we are trying to find evaluation reports / data of how training for our current and legacy systems was introduced and the effectiveness of that training.
It would be extremely useful to obtain information of how various sectors of industry introduced MIS training across their organization and any lessons learnt / evaluation of that training.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone is able to provide information in this area.

    Many thanks
    Simon

Compliance training

Hi all,Compliance training is most of the time regarded as the most boring, unimaginative and text heavy of them all.Although it's hard to disagree with it, I was wondering if you wanted to share ideas on the following.Do you find that clients, in this particular sector, have a very set mind of what an eLearning course is? By and large a mere copy and paste of the content material into something that looks more polished and glossy, and can be mass delivered?  What's your experience?Antonella

Banking and Finance Interest Group at the June conference

I had the pleasure of hosting the Interest Group meeting at the June conference. It was interesting that half the participants were not in banking or finance, but seemed to be curious to see what was going on in our sector. As well as  few banks and an insurer we had two people from Enterprise Ireland, wanting to see what our current needs and prioritis were (to help their software companies), and random but interesting visitors from Kings College London Institute of Psychiatry and…

Would anyone be willing to share how their firm run their induction programmes?

We are reviewing our induction programme considering ways that we can make the process more enjoyable and effective before, during and after the first day. This obviously means blending all sorts of learning platforms but I would be really interested to know in a general sense how other firms in the Banking, Insurance and Finance sectors induct new starters. Thanks in advance.Vaughan Waller
