Accelerating employee on-boarding, learning and team performance with a social enterprise platform
Nyla Reed, Founding Partner, The Educe Group
Changing workforce demographics and expectations coupled with advances in cloud based technology, which support social processes and interaction is enable organisations to transform the way they work by moving away from the information centric approach to people centric approach.
In 2010, one third of Educe employees were new hires, joining the organisation at different times to fill different roles. With a growing virtual team, the in person, on-boarding model used in the past was not going to work. So Educe explored the market to find a solution that would support them with this challenge and hopefully much more. Enter the ‘Saba People Cloud’, an enterprise social platform that offered, learning, performance and talent management as well as real-time collaboration.
In addition to meeting the initial goal of facilitating new employee on-boarding, the collaboration capability of the solution has enabled:
- A new portal for internal resources to identify skills and capability within the team
- A forum for implementation troubleshooting to decrease response time to clients
- Replacement of the existing document repository to prevent time spent in search and rework
- Continuous Performance review and evaluation to increase individual and team performance
In the process Educe experienced a increase in social collaboration, improved process consistency and faster issue resolution.
This presentation will also cover how Educe implemented the Saba People Cloud and provide some useful tips and guidelines on how a company can successfully implement a social platform, overcoming some of the fears and issues currently anticipated by those who view this new social world with a degree of trepidation and concern.
