Now in a formal training role (since December 2010), I have been employed in various managerial roles which have included training and development as part of them. Particularly I was involved in both the development of post outlines for the Knowledge and Skills Framework within NHS Lothian, but also trained as a trainer and acted as a focal point during the implementation period.
I am passionate about people developing as individuals and within their professional roles. I am also active with the Women in Management Network in Scotland, affiliated to the CMI where we organise events to bring men and women together to share ideas and network, and using feedback tailor our events to the needs of our audience.
My current role encompasses overseeing of technical training programmes in low and middle income countries, including review of course content, course development and design and needs analysis. We are developing robust plans for training follow up to help us identify leaders in capacity building in country.
