I'm sure that you will have seen the announcement of Dame Mary Marsh being appointed to lead a review of Leadership & Skills in the third sector. This has been widely reported - which is fantastic for raising the profile of L&D in the sector!
Here's the news on Third Sector magazine & The Guardian - but it was widely reported elsewhere.
I thought this poll on The Guardian was interesting, although the results were not entirely unexpected - 70% say there are serious holes in their charity's skill set.
For those interested, Dame Mary will be at the Skills - Third Sector conference on 20th November, alongside Nick Hurd MP, minister for Civil Society. See the Skills - Third Sector website for more info. Early bird discount runs until 31st October at £149
There's a session at the conference on Stretching your training pound - more info on the Charity Learning website.
It''s great to see L&D in the Third Sector getting some well deserved attention!
