We are creating online content internally on soft skills and are wondering about the use of self analysis tools in our content. Examples of these tools are Belbin's Team Roles questionnaire and Stephen Covey's Urgency Addiction quiz.We want to make our content as interactive and useful as possible, so would like to give employees the opportunity to assess themselves to see how they can apply the learning, however we need to do this with as little expenditure as possible.Does anyone have experience in this area? Are there any versions of these tools out there that are not covered by copyright? If not, what is the most cost-effective way to include these tools? Thanks!Laura

  • I look for something similar for a project I did 6 months ago, in order to come up with metrics to show a course's effectiveness. Unfortunately the best I could come up with was some 40 year old questions that may or may not apply.

Good luck and let us know if you find anything.

  • We've done quite a few of these. We've based them on ones that the company had already paid for, for example, in printed training material. We then programmed them in Javascript. It is important to check copyright - we had to take one well known questionnaire down after a few weeks because the author was visiting one of our HR managers and happened to see it as he was being shown around our site!
